The international standard ISO 14001 defines globally recognized requirements for an environmental management system. This gives companies a tool with which they can continuously improve the sustainability of their business activities and systematically manage their effects on the environment. This includes the definition of a corporate environmental policy, the determination of binding environmental goals and the implementation of a management system that helps to achieve the goals.
To implement the requirements of ISO 14001, the Kannegiesser sustainability team has done a great job over the last few months! Processes and responsibilities were defined, goals set, and the necessary documents created that are necessary for a certified environmental management system. During the final audit from May 10th to 16th, 2023, the conformity of these measures with ISO 14001 was checked and confirmed by a certified auditor.
We are happy about the success of this work! Of course, this is not a one-time thing, but rather the starting point of a continuous process. With the Kannegiesser environmental management according to ISO 14001, we will permanently improve and establish our measures towards sustainability and present them in regularly recurring audits.
