Groundbreaking ceremony for new production hall in Vlotho, Germany

Kannegiesser is investing in the future: With a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, the company officially launched the construction of a new production hall at its site in Vlotho, Germany. Together with representatives from the construction company BREMER, Kannegiesser’s management marked the start of a forward-looking project designed to strengthen the company in the long term.

The new hall will cover around 6,000 square meters, including approximately 1,000 square meters of modern office space. It meets high environmental standards, will be fully equipped with photovoltaic systems on the roof, and will be built in accordance with the energy-efficient KfW 40 standard. The goal is to bring production and design together to further optimize the flow of information between design/development and assembly.

Tina Kannegiesser, CEO, highlights the company's development: "Our industry has changed significantly. In the past, we were perceived as a machine and plant manufacturer. Today, we see ourselves as a solution provider for industrial laundry technology. We not only supply machines and systems but also control and visualization software that integrates seamlessly into our customers' systems. This is how we create customized complete solutions: from individual machines to complex structures. And we don't see service as an add-on, but as an integral part of what we do."

With this investment, the family-owned company is making a conscious commitment to Germany as a production location, taking a path that is not a matter of course in the industry. While many competitors have relocated their production abroad, Kannegiesser continues to rely on production sites in Germany, the UK, and the US, and is expanding them further.

“With our strategic investments in Vlotho and currently in Aue-Bad Schlema, we are strengthening our locations and creating the basis for remaining competitive. It is crucial to continuously improve processes, implement innovations quickly and seamlessly introduce them to the market, and respond flexibly to new requirements. This is how we secure our lead and shape the future of the company,” explains Tina Kannegiesser.

The new hall is expected to be completed next year, paving the way for production to begin in the new premises. With this expansion, Kannegiesser is responding to growing demands and creating additional space to implement innovative solutions even more efficiently in the future.
